" The Consumerist Forums :: The Consumerist :: Consumer Alert! :: Honda Motorcycle DYI Warning The Following is a Letter I sent to American Honda 4-10-07.As of 6-1-07 I have had NO response.This correspondence is in response to American Honda Motor Co., Inc.’s (“Honda”) correspondence dated January 23, 2007 regarding denial of assistance with the repair under warranty of my 2006 XR650L (“Vehicle”). I brought my Vehicle to DFW Honda (“Dealership”) for inspection on December 9, 2006 due to its failure to start. The Dealership found an excessive amount of metal shavings in the engine’s compression release and motor oil. The top end of the motor was then disassembled, where the technician found more metal chunks and shavings which appeared to be a piece of the ring. The sleeve of the cylinder was blue on the front right side on the exhaust side. The technician further stated he was not aware of how long the vehicle was in this condition, but " [1]
