Honda's CBRs: History of Victory
" 1987 CBR600F and CBR1000F Hurricane Debut . Honda's 600 Hurricane made its debut the same year the AMA introduced the 600 Supersport class. The two made a perfect match, with Honda's newly minted 600 sweeping to victory in all nine races. Doug Polen, the 600 Supersport class' first champion, won seven races in a row to set the class' first record. Introduced side-by-side with the CBR600F, the new Honda CBR1000F Hurricane rocked the literbike world. In the U.S., the Superbike class was limited to 750cc for four-cylinder machines. But this was the shape of what was soon to come: 1000cc Sup" [1]

2004 Honda CBR600 Model History - Honda - Press Releases - Selected Story
" Honda's first-generation CBR600F established new standards for the middleweight class. The Hurricane's unique full-coverage bodywork allowed engineers to skip costly engine cosmetics and focus development dollars inside the engine cases. The result was a class-leading 83 horsepower from the CBR's liquid-cooled dohc inline-four. With a dry weight of 396.8 pounds--the lightest 600 available--the Hurricane blew away the competition, yet remained true to its design philosophy by offering versatility to match its incredible performance. . 1990 CBR600F . For the 600's first makeover, Honda focused its attention on the engine. Revised p" [2]

Honda Powersports - Milestone models and achievements through Honda's history
" No surprise, really considering the CBR600 from the Hurricane to the CBR600F4i boasts a lineage as stunningly successful in the showroom as it has on the track. And as both the best-selling middleweight in history and the winningest 600 ever in AMA SuperSport racing, there's quite simply never been another sportbike like it. The original 600 Hurricane, of course, set the tone by rewriting every rule of the sportbike game. In a single, class-defining stroke, Honda unleashed the lightest, quickest, most powerful and most versatile middleweight the world had ever seen. Moreover, the perfectly balanced Hurricane answered the needs of street riders as ably as those of racers. Several major makeovers follo" [3]

Changing the "1100XX" to a 1300?? - CBRXX.com
" One of the main reason I got my Bird is because I STILL haven't seen another one out! I've heard talk on the net and from some motor cycle shops here in the city that honda's testing a new 2008/9 BB with a V-6 but will honda do it? just ask Warchildxx Picture that with a Polaroid Yes, I have a CBX with a CBR600F-2 front wheel, a 98 CBR600F-3 rear wheel, 94 CBR600F-2 forks and 2003 CBR954 four piston calipers and it handles great. Much better than any stock CBX anywhere. It also does stoppies. I can see Honda turning a V-4 into a V-6 although it would have to be of small displacement and that is what they did with the CBX that was only 1047cc. Kind of a let down to those who like big displacement engines. I saw a Honda motorcycle sized V-8 online somewhere that was pretty friggin awesome, imagine th" [5]

" Did I miss something? Oh yeah, I once borrowed a 77 CBR600F for a summer.... And I did have a 76 Alfa Romeo, 70 Datsun 510, 64 1/2 Mustang (289 V8) , 72 Dodge Coronet, 83 Scirocco and 71 Vega GT in any order you choose. Plus, if you check the creation voting records for the Honda newsgroup you'll see me there.... So there, I was here first.. ;-) The current base TL is a great road going car. Not as fun in the twisties as a GSR or Prelude, but it hauls. The Type S may be a bit too much of a good thing on a long drive though. That said, I'm thinking that we might replace our '" [8]

" AHM could have used the tie in with Coke and had a CBR600F or the likes instead.... My wife and I commented on how Toyota can move so fast with their ads... and even Chevy -"We got more fuel efficient models than Honda"- but AHM's marketing is sooooo lame... I think they ought to hire the Brits to run ads for our Superbowl... those HoE guys are superb at their ads and a single looong ad in the second quarter would be a good investment. So hear that AHM? HIRE ME to run your ads.... I'm easy to find... call my wife.... I watched pretty much all the ads on-line. Some were okay, none" [9]

" The 599/Hornet used to use one of the old carbeurated CBR600F engines and the 919 used the old 900RR engine so my guess is that the 919 will get upgraded to 1000RR power the same way the 599 got upgraded to 600RR power. I haven't read or heard anything to that effect though. I'm pretty interested in seeing how the next 919 turns out though, given how well the Hornet's redesign went. " 2007 also marks 20 years since the very first CBR600F rolled off the line, which was christened the Hurricane. Since then the model has steadily evolved as a supersport 600 with a friendly and forgiving riding demeanor. . However, by around 1999, the competition started to up the ante by making more focused, race-ready 600 cc sport bikes. The last CBR600F model, the CBR600F4i was still a great performer but was overshadowed by the racier 600's from Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. In 2003 Honda decided to take the fight to the competition and built the decidely more hardcore, CBR600RR. The 600RR had quite a bit of sales and racing success and Honda is hop" [11]
